KShs500.00 KShs499.00
Nairobi does not wait for anyone. When Cassan and Mulwa move into a tiny room above garages along Jogoo Road, they arrive with little more than ambition, street instincts, and a stubborn belief that tomorrow must be better than today. Surrounded by the chaos of matatus, hustlers, nightlife, corrupt deals, music culture, flooded streets, and endless survival battles, the two young men quickly discover that Nairobi is both a dream factory and a dangerous battlefield. By day, they chase jobs that never call back. By night, they hustle through the city selling phone covers, filming underground music videos, navigating risky friendships, and trying to stay alive in a place where one wrong decision can destroy everything. But as opportunities begin to appear, so do temptations. Money changes people. Power attracts danger. And the city tests every weakness. Set against the raw, electric energy of modern Nairobi, JOGOO DREAMS is a gripping coming-of-age urban adventure about brotherhood, resilience, ambition, betrayal, creativity, and survival in one of Africa’s fastest-moving cities. Filled with authentic street life, emotional realism, humor, struggle, music, and hope, this novel captures the heartbeat of a generation fighting to build something meaningful from nothing. For dreamers. For hustlers. For survivors. Welcome to Jogoo Road.

BEYOND THE BEHAVIOUR A Trauma-Informe...

Children who come into contact with justice systems rarely do so in isolation from their lived realities. My professional journey across juvenile correctional facilities, counselling spaces, and community settings in Kenya and internationally has consistently affirmed one truth: children’s behaviour is often a reflection of unresolved adult, family, and systemic distress. This guidebook is born out of empirical research conducted among urban Kenyan families in informal settlements of Mombasa County, where family triangulation emerged as a critical yet often overlooked contributor to child delinquency. The findings challenged the dominant punitive and child-blaming approaches and instead called for family-centred, trauma- informed, and rights-based responses. This guide is therefore written for the child justice actor who must make decisions under pressure, in limited-resource environments, yet with profound consequences for a child’s life trajectory. It is intended to be practical, ethical, and humanistic—placing the child at the centre, while recognising the family and community systems that shape behaviour. If this guide enables one practitioner to pause, listen, assess differently, and intervene more humanely, then its purpose will have been fulfilled.

The System Breaker

The System Breaker by Tobias Otieno Ogola is an unrelenting nine-season political action thriller that follows the life of Tobias Raila, a man who was born in the fires of injustice on the shores of Lake Victoria in Mbita, one of the regions the story calls Helland. Tobias is not vengeful when government troops massacre his village, seize ancestral lands, and reduce his people to silence through systematic corruption. He goes to war with the very system. Tobias, having been conditioned by his uncle Jack in matters of survival, combat and covert operations, becomes a precision weapon, unmatched in lethality. In 81 episodes of ever-increasing hostility, he deconstructs 81 war ideologies, of jungle trackers and siege tacticians to cyber operatives, intelligence agents, and mercenaries of the world. But Tobias is more than a fighter. He is a shadow economist. A robber of plundered riches. A financial system ghost. His mission: Follow national resources embezzled Infiltrate elite networks Collapse corrupt infrastructures Give back embezzled funds to the citizens. What starts in Mbita goes global stretching between Nairobi and New York to expose the engine of modern corruption; debt traps, proxy wars, corporate exploitation, and political manipulation. Every season is surgically precise: Season 1: The fall of Mbita Season 2: Weaponization Season 3: The vigilante comes out. Season 4: Media warfare Season 5: Corporate dismantling Season 6: Judicial corruption Season 7: Global expansion Season 8: Elite collapse Season 9: Psychological endgame This work is dedicated to the late King Raila Amolo Odinga and to the Luo patriots who stood, fought, and in many cases fell in the struggle for justice, land, and dignity,to Tom Mboya, Argwings Kodhek, Robert Ouko, and to the countless unnamed whose sacrifices were never fully recorded; this story exists as both remembrance and resistance, a continuation of their defiance, and a declaration that the fight they carried through history has not ended, but has evolved into a new kind of war against systems that still deny people their rightful land, voice, and dignity.

The Big We – A Blueprint for Sustaina...

KShs1,750.00 KShs1,400.00
The Big We is a bold and practical manifesto for transforming Uganda’s construction industry into a powerful engine of national development. Grounded in history, economics, and real industry experience, Dr. Apollo Buregyeya reframes construction not merely as a sector, but as the backbone of civilization itself—one that shapes markets, livelihoods, and the trajectory of a nation. The book exposes the structural weaknesses that have kept local contractors at the margins of their own economy, including dependence on foreign firms, misaligned procurement systems, high financing costs, and the uncritical adoption of external standards and technologies. It challenges the illusion of a “level playing field” and argues that without deliberate policy and institutional reform, Uganda will continue to outsource both value and capability. At the heart of the book is the “BIG WE” framework—Business Development, Infrastructure Quality, Graduates, Wages, and Exports—a five-part strategy designed to build a competitive, self-reliant, and globally relevant construction industry. Through this framework, the book outlines how Uganda can develop financially strong contractors, raise infrastructure quality through systemic reform, align education with industry needs, improve labour productivity and wages, and ultimately export construction services and expertise. Blending technical insight with economic reasoning, The Big We makes a compelling case for economic patriotism, local capacity building, and institutional alignment. It calls on government, industry players, and professionals to act collectively—to move from “me” to “we”—and take ownership of the nation’s development agenda. This is not just a book about construction. It is a blueprint for reclaiming control of Uganda’s economic future.

Decolonising Africa’s Infrastructure:...

KShs1,750.00 KShs1,400.00
Why does Africa continue to invest billions in infrastructure, yet struggle to unlock broad-based prosperity? In Decolonising Africa’s Infrastructure, Dr. Apollo Buregyeya presents a bold and practical critique of the continent’s infrastructure model. He argues that many roads, railways, and projects are still designed along colonial lines, optimized for extraction and export rather than for connecting people, building industries, and strengthening internal markets. Drawing from engineering practice, economic reasoning, and African realities, the book explores how infrastructure can be redesigned to drive local industry, create jobs, and support sustainable development. It challenges policymakers, engineers, investors, and citizens to rethink not just what we build, but why we build it. This is not just a critique. It is a call to action for a new infrastructure philosophy, one that places African people, productivity, and sovereignty at its center.

My Plate of Garbage explores the hidden journey behind the food we eat and the often-ignored dangers lurking from farm to fork. Using vivid observations from markets, kitchens, and neighborhoods across Kenya, the book reveals how food that should nourish instead becomes a source of illness due to poor hygiene, unsafe handling, and Unpolished Systems. Beneath the appealing displays of “fresh” produce and ready meals lies a reality of contamination, neglect, and misplaced priorities driven by cost and convenience. Blending lived experience with scientific insight, the book is not a technical guide or a harsh lecture, but a reflective and sometimes unsettling conversation about shared responsibility. It highlights the roles of farmers, transporters, vendors, regulators, and consumers in shaping food safety outcomes. Ultimately, the book calls for awareness, accountability, and common

Across counties from Migori to Kisumu, through the dust of rural villages, the bustle of cities, and the quiet flow of rivers, they face the unrelenting weight of government neglect, scarcity, and exploitative traditions. Their children Akinyi Grace, Anyango Mary, and Obiero Daniel move through these worlds with watchful eyes, learning the subtle currents of obedience, hope, and endurance. Miracles are whispered, altars demand faith, and exploitative figures test both courage and moral resolve.
