KShs1,000.00 KShs650.00
The peaceful quiet rich life of Mzee Yoshua Lelma and his family is suddenly thrown into mourning and hopelessness after a deadly raid by bandits from a neighbouring community. The raid sparks a series of events that breed pain, revenge, betrayal, love and eventually hope as portrayed through the various characters. The author, Egara Kabaji, through his sharp literary skills, illuminates the causes and effects of cattle rustling amongst the North Western communities of Kenya. He portrays how the frequent banditry raids have hurt individuals, communities and the entire region. The author, with passion, lauds the rich Turkana culture and the unique tourist attractions in the region. He captures the social, political and economic lifestyle of the people in such a fascinating manner that one is tempted to imagine he has blood relations with the community. Kabaji gives faces and voices to the history of the Turkana community in an objective manner, which is a rare feat. He is celebrated for his exceptional gift of telling complex stories in a simple but engaging manner.

Shadows of Love Sylvia Mwende dreams of love, but instead, her heart is scarred by betrayal and heartbreak. In her desperate search for love, she confronts a maze of internal conflicts in an uncaring world. In her naivety, she makes wrong choices, leading her deeper into emotional turmoil. Torn between the shadows of past pain and the hope for a better future, Mwende's journey is punctuated with missteps that complicate her already fragile life. In Shadows of Love, the author weaves a captivating love story that confronts contradictions between the heart's yearnings and the ways of the human mind. Skillfully and with surgical precision, Egara Kabaji peels layers of the ramifications of love while leading the reader to deep embers of reflection on love. Vividly, he depicts the troubled life of Sylvia Mwende, who swings between polarities of joy and pain and unexpectedly finds real love in an unlikely place. As she navigates the complexities of her heart, she discovers that while good men are indeed rare, they do exist. Yet, she also learns a harsh truth: some women can be unwittingly destructive. Tormented by family expectations, Sylvia must confront her past and embrace the possibility of a brighter future. As Sylvia Mwende grapples with the consequences of her decisions, the line between love and pain blurs, leaving her at a crossroads. Will Mwende break free from the chains of heartache, or will the shadows consume her? The unmarked grave and other stories

The unmarked grave and other stories is a collection of mostly factual and a few fictitious stories handed down to me by my late grandmother. Though fictional there's a clear lesson that's still applicable in our modern day society. All other factual stories e.g the wingless butterfly, killed by love and holier than thou happened in the author's life and environment. By documenting all those unfortunate events requires the society to acknowledge and act on them to get an amicable solution.

  • The story of Hodhan is a testament to the resilience and strength that many young girls in her community possess. In a society where rules are rigid and imperfections are frequently hidden or ignored, Hodhan's journey exemplifies the struggles and pain she faces at such a young age. THE DEVIL’S UNDERWEAR by Nahash...

  1. A compilation of two remarkable fiction novels.
THE DEVIL'S UNDERWEAR This novel is about nothing at all. Only that metaphorically reflects the story of the Devil, protruding fangs, pigheaded, and suffering microcephaly. The moribund curmudgeon and the brainchild of anthropophagy pop into a fashion gallery to only look at the attendant across the face and ask for a pair of cotton balbriggan to adorn his humongous bahookie and not for special occasions but for wearing every day. It was a gigantic woolen balbriggan, and he loved to wear it and swing his pelvic girdle flaunting his humongous breasts and buttocks when something weird happenned—not just today but a couple of times. The Devil shits his pants after emitting fat Malodorous gases. He gets tired of the woolen balbriggan and throws the pair of soiled pants into the laundry baskets— nobody knows if the microcephalic curmudgeon still thinks the underwear is recyclable. A WORLD WITH NO AIR A world with no air" is a compelling story that revolves around the life of an African boy. It is a journey of one man inside himself engulfed with an overwhelming quest for liberation. It is a clear picture of how an average African boy fights to survive in the underprivileged world. It reflects a journey through barricades and dangerous hiccups. It is a pure example of what it means to hit rock bottom. "As I walked along the tiny road that runs from Kenya Clay Works to the other side of the road that connects O.J. and Ruiru town, I tried to figure out what Gmail and email entail. I came up with a genius idea, maybe email means when you send electronic mail, and Gmail means when someone sends a mail using a generator. I did not know. I looked at the piece of paper and ripped it into shreds.”
