Children'S / Teenage Fiction & True Stories

In the quiet village of Namakhudu, every girl knows the rule: fetch water from the river—and come straight home. But when three curious friends take a secret shortcut through the mango path, what begins as playful laughter turns into something far more chilling… Because in the shadows, the hyenas are listening. And when they laugh… it’s not what it seems. Join Nekesa, Nakhulo, Nalala, and Achieng in this unforgettable African folktale about choices, courage, and the power of integrity. A little spooky, a little wise—this story will make you laugh, gasp, and think twice before taking shortcuts.
