The way of living man

KShs1,300.00
  • You are already on the brink of your life--you only know not.
The Way of the Living Man by Tobias Otieno Ogola is a head on clash with the fantasy of time, preparation and waiting to get the right time. It kills the illusion that life begins later and it is substituted by a more terrestrial truth that it is now and it was always so. The book is not a comforting one. It is written in disruptive manner. Laid as a guide to the field rather than a more traditional narrative, the work gives three hundred brief sayings -all of them edges of the blade intended to cut through indecision, justification-making and inactive existence. These are utterances that are points of action. Each demands movement. Each requires sacrifice. Both of them compel the reader to leave the identity of a person who is attempting and embrace the identity of a person who is acting. The major conflict of the book is resistance. The reader will be supposed to disagree, to protest, to find reasons to prove what he is doing now. This opposition is not an objection, but the object. The uncomfortable thoughts are specifically pointed at the bottom of the reader. The book redefines the emotional resistance as a diagnostic instrument and indicates where one needs to be developed. The book is divided into ten central areas of change to give the reader a sequence of external and internal development: Delay must be put behind, inner anarchy experienced, discipline and purpose developed, and finally one gets to the point of full expression, which the book calls dying empty. This idea is not the figurative hedonism; it is offered as a quantifiable norm of a full life, in which no opportunity of value is discarded or denied. The voice is unreachable. It makes the assumption that the reader has lost his interest in theory, or in passive inspiration. It is also somewhat addressed to the man, who is able to observe his own stagnation and is willing to confront it. It denies softness, denies long preparation, and denies the comfort of self-perception which is not coupled with action. Way of the Living Man is not something that is passively consumed. It is to be used, it is to be scribbled, it is to be re-read, it is to be rubbed in. It places itself in the position of a working manual- something to be carried, worked with, and put to the test in actual life. It is not a book that everybody can enjoy. It does not strive towards wide appeal. It is addressed to people who experience the burden of the unrealized potential and the time running out. In its bareness the book is a cold one-liner; you are already on the edge. The next question is, Will you come out--or shall you continue to wait till there is nothing more to come into?

LAWS OF GREATNESS

KShs1,200.00
Laws of Greatness is a transformational guide that explores the timeless principles governing a life of purpose, impact, and lasting legacy. Rooted in biblical truth, leadership wisdom, and real-life examples, this book reveals that greatness is not accidental—it is governed by divine laws that must be understood, embraced, and applied. Through carefully structured “laws,” the author leads readers on a journey of self-discovery, beginning with purpose—the foundation of existence—and progressing through potential, vision, passion, discipline, character, excellence, relationships, time, process, and sacrifice, culminating in impact and legacy. Each law builds upon the previous one, showing how greatness is developed intentionally over time through obedience, responsibility, and alignment with God’s design. Drawing insights from Scripture, history, leadership thought, and personal reflection, the book challenges readers to move beyond mere survival, titles, and popularity into a life of meaning and contribution. It confronts common misconceptions about success and exposes the dangers of wasted potential, shallow ambition, and visionless living. Instead, it calls individuals to discover their God-given assignment, cultivate their inner capacity, and serve their generation faithfully. At its core, Laws of Greatness teaches that true greatness is measured not by how high one rises, but by how well one fulfills purpose, how many lives are impacted, and what legacy is left behind. It is both a personal awakening and a leadership manual—designed to equip a generation to live intentionally, lead courageously, and die empty, having poured out everything they were created to give.

KShs2,500.00
In the next twenty-five years, Africa’s population is predicted to double in size to 2.5 billion, so that by 2050 one in four people on earth will be African. How can Africa accommodate and benefit from this huge demographic shift? In The Invisible People, former MTN CEO Phuthuma Nhleko calls for a new African renaissance based on three pillars. The first involves building a confident common identity, rooted in Africa’s long and rich history, and celebrating its fundamental contributions to modern civilisation, religion and culture. The second is unleashing the kind of economic development that has so far eluded Africa, by leveraging its significant assets and resources, abandoning outdated and inadequate economic models, and carving a new path grounded in a Pan-African vision and based on technological and economic leapfrogging. The third pillar involves bolstering Africa’s geopolitical influence, by redefining its relationship with the US and China, and embracing a strategic path in its own interests, to take its rightful place in world affairs as home to a quarter of humanity. An insightful and inspiring journey through history, economics and geopolitics, The Invisible People will change the way that people view the future of Africa and the world.

Kiku: The Japanese Art of Good Listen...

KShs2,790.00
No other life form turns noise into sound, sound into language, then language into understanding quite the way we humans do when we listen. As a sociolinguist who grew up in different places with very different languages, Haru Yamada has always been fascinated with the way people navigate their day listening to language systems that code the world in such dramatically different ways. And it was as Haru was recovering in the ICU from an accident that had inflicted a permanent hearing disability when she rediscovered the extraordinary benefit found in the science of listening—the critical intelligence we need to learn and grow and get better. Now, Haru Yamada offers a practical guide to more effective listening as a perceptive, creative exercise. We don’t just listen to what people say and don’t say, we reconstruct what someone else is saying and doing and meaning and feeling. Listening is a skill that requires our physical ear and brain power and the effort of our creative mind and social heart to remix what we hear from others and recreate it within ourselves. Kiku will allow you to harness the vital energy of listening to connect, sustain, and enhance the relationships you have with your friends, families, and professional teams.
