TRAPPED BY LOVE: The Hardest Yes A Mother's Journey of Love, Acceptance, and the Long Yes "Your son is as beautiful as a girl," the doctor said. What Maria Esipisu didn't know yet was that this tiny, 2.6-kilogram boy would rewrite everything she thought she knew about motherhood, faith, and love. They named him Mwalimu Teacher. He would spend the next twenty years living up to it. What began as an ordinary birth story became a five-year search for answers no doctor could give. Convulsions with no known cause. A prediction that he might not survive to his tenth birthday. A parade of diagnoses autism, then something rarer still each one raising more questions than it answered. Medication that dimmed her son's spark before it ever helped him. A village full of opinions, prophecies, and a "Misinformation Olympics" she never asked to compete in. This is a mother's unflinching account of the diagnosis no one could quite name, the marriage it tested, the insurance battles it demanded she win, and the faith it both broke and rebuilt. It is also the story of what happened when Limu turned ten the birthday he wasn't supposed to see and his mother turned her grief into a promise that became a movement: over forty wheelchairs delivered to children who, like her son, had been waiting to be seen. Trapped by Love doesn't offer easy answers or tidy healing. It offers something rarer: the truth about what it costs to love a child the world doesn't know how to hold and what you gain when you refuse to let go. For every parent who has sat in a waiting room without answers. For every caregiver who has forgotten they're allowed to rest. For everyone who needs to hear: you cannot pour from an empty cup. What you'll find inside: A raw, five-year diagnostic journey through Kenyan and South African hospitals The emotional toll of false diagnoses, medication, and unsolicited "cures" A marriage and family tested and what held it together The financial and insurance battles most special-needs families never talk about A mother's turn from grief to advocacy: 40+ wheelchairs, one promise kept A closing letter to every exhausted caregiver, on permission to rest Some stories are read. This one is meant to be carried with you into the next hard day, the next waiting room, the next moment you need to remember you are not alone. Scroll up and grab your copy of Trapped by Love today.

Retire and Realign: Purpose Beyond th...

From a humble beginning as a son of employees in white settlers' farms in the central Rift Valley, Dr Francis K. Sang overcame many odds to rise through the ranks of the Kenya Police and become the 4th Kenyan Director of the Criminal Investigation Department. He served in this position for 4 years before he was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the changeover of government in Kenya at the end of 2002. He was tasked with the establishment of the Nairobi Secretariat to coordinate issues to do with small arms in the region. This he did and later helped transform the secretariat into the Regional Centre for Small Arms (RECSA), a regional inter-governmental body that coordinates activities aimed at controlling and reducing the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the Eastern Africa, Great Lakes and Horn of Africa region and bordering states. In this autobiography, he relates his experiences, from the difficult circumstances surrounding his birth and childhood, his struggles to get an education in spite of the many obstacles that he faced and his experiences in the police force, particularly in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) during the tenure of the 2nd President of Kenya, Daniel Arap Moi. He also relates his experiences after the NARC Government took over in 2002 and sent most senior security officers in the former government packing, either on retirement or on transfer to other less prestigious positions. He further relates how, through determination, he has been able to achieve his academic dreams which had been deferred earlier in his life owing to financial constraints, culminating in the acquisition of a PhD late in life. He also speaks about the role his family has played in enabling him to achieve all he has in his life. Reflecting on his long journey that has brought him to the place where he is today, the author also gives a number of insights on his work and life. This autobiography should serve as interesting reading to the general public as well as to persons serving in the disciplined forces, considering that it is the first from amongst persons that have served in the police force and risen through the ranks to the very top.

Wangū wa Makeri is not an ordinary work. It is a mixture of biography, cultural exposition and Kagombe's own personal account. He adopts an authoritative posture in what is mostly a spirited defence of Wangu wa Makeri, a prominent shaper of Kenyan's history. The value of Kagombe's book is in its details of Giküyü customs. It is a story of inter-linkages of prominent Gīküyü lineages such as Waiyaki, Kenyatta, Wangū. Mücheke and Njindo. He brings up the peculiarities of myths about each of the Agiküyü clans and brings back to life the reputation of Wangū wa Makeri as a chief in colonial times. He brings up rarely known facts about Wangu and a host of many forgotten people. Most important, this book is a how-to instruction manual on Agiküyü customs and a resuscitation of disappearing memories and norms.

In his deeply personal and intellectually honest autobiography. Dancing With The Devil Prof. Kiama pulls back the curtain on the formidable complexities of his life and leadership. He introduces the unstated expectation to "dance with the devil" for those who serve in high public office.
Far more than a memoir of academic ascent, this book is a manifesto for public institutional leaders. It is the gripping story of a man who stood his ground to transform a legacy institution into a competitive force for modern society. and a powerful testament that grace is capable of carrying a village boy to the summit and compelling him to leave the world betfer than he found it

Elections are often misunderstood. They are presented as moments - events that begin with campaigns and end with results. But in reality, elections are systems. They are shaped long before the first rally and continue long after the final vote is counted.

This book enters the political space at a critical moment in Kenya’s evolution. The rules of engagement are shifting. Voters are more informed, more independent, and more demanding. Technology has redefined communication. Coalitions are fluid. Narratives are contested in real time. In such an environment, success cannot be accidental. It must be designed.

The 2027 Playbook provides that design. It is not a collection of theories. It is a strategic framework - grounded in Kenya’s electoral realities and informed by the lessons of recent cycles. It speaks to candidates, strategists, political parties, and leaders who seek not only to compete - but to win, govern, and sustain influence. In modern politics, victory belongs not to the loudest voice, but to the most disciplined strategy.

"We all have the same rights to be here." But how about when the place you call home no longer needs you? In Mamaland, a train ride transforms into a reflection of modern-day Africa where strangers become neighbours, neighbours become foes, and all are seeking a place that they can call their own. With old wounds being opened and new divisions being created, there is one question that remains: What does it really take to call a land a motherland? In these pages, the final gesture of love from a daughter will be the final goodbye from a father. Ambition and betrayal combine in closed rooms where the exchange of power takes place. Families are challenged by sorrow, strangers battle prejudice, and normal people show extraordinary bravery when life requires more of them than they thought they can give.

The Blessed Hope: A Journey of Faith ...

KShs500.00
It is three in the morning, and I am fully awake. Lying here in my bed, and staring into the suffocating darkness, where shadows seem to breathe. I would rather be deep in some sweet sleep, but I am glad I am awake so I can stand against the devil and tell him to his face that he is a liar and a loser. I just had a nightmare. I was at war with the devil, actually, but unlike the many other nightmares I have had in my dreams, this time, I awoke, and I was not scared. I will first go ahead and gladly tell you that I gave my life to Jesus almost two months ago. I am glad about the new change in me because I have never found anything or anywhere safer than being with God. With that, I am simply telling you that there is peace and real life with Jesus. The confidence I have here in giving you this joyous piece of news is not mine but the Lord’s. And going back to the nightmare, I want to confirm that I had actually seen a huge bird on top of a tree last evening, and I pointed it out to my friend. I am not really sure what kind of bird it was, but I think it was a giant owl, for I have seen at least one, if not several in the village. And what would a bird be doing, sitting comfortably on a branch in the cover of darkness, save for an owl, which happens to be nocturnal anyway? The thing is, the bird I had seen attacked me in my dreams. It was an owl. A giant, black, ominous owl. Owls have always unsettled me. Their hoots being an eerie call, a whisper of bad luck, or perhaps even a herald of death. In my dream, I am home, upcountry, in my night attire, ready for bed when a knock sounds on the door. I open it, and there stands the one guy I like most. I usher him in, and suddenly, an owl starts hooting just outside the house. I have never liked those sounds. They disturb the quiet of the night, and again, they are unsettling, depressing, dreadful, revolting and, like I had said, ill-omened. I have never been known to tolerate them either, if I can help it, so in this case, I want to go out and try to drive it away. Unbeknownst to me, the devil has declared war. He sent the brother to tempt me in the one way a woman can be compromised. The devil sought to make me sin, to make me weak. The man was also in the faith, so I didn’t see that coming, but I passed the test, picked up my coat, and ran out. The devil is sly, he knew I would go out rebuking the bird like I have done so many times before. So he lay in wait to devour me. But my God is true and faithful. The God of my salvation is my strong tower and my shield against any weapon formed against me. And in Him, I have the confidence that every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned. So I walked around the compound, peeking at trees with the help of the moon that shone bright. Then I spotted it. Bloodshot, huge eyes- the most terrifying bird I have ever seen- staring at me menacingly. It sits on a branch, watching, seemingly huge and gloomy, poised to attack. Then it soars toward me, talons outstretched, a shadow of death in the moonlight. I froze. There is only one being who can save me, the one being who is above and beyond any other, the one name I hold onto and consider holy- the name Jesus. I shouted and rebuked it by the blood of Jesus; I tell it he is nothing save a loser and a coward. I recited the verse where it is written that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, asking God to protect and preserve my life from the fear of the enemy. By this time, it was so close I had to dive behind the barbed wire near me to save my head. It comes down, hopping on its feet with its wings drawn out wide for balance, stopping just a few paces behind me. Then it turns and approaches me in the most assured and calm manner. I sense the end… but then, it suddenly stops, appearing to be struck by something. I take the golden chance to flee to safety, but just as I am about to open the door, it catches up with me. With my adrenaline on edge and my survival instinct on point, I grab a thick piece of wood leaning against the wall and swing with all my might, striking the evil bird with a sickening thud. It doesn’t die but loses balance and drops to the ground. I struck it repeatedly, again and again and again, until it died. By the time it lies still, I am shaking with fear and my mind flooded with disbelief. I had killed the damned bird. But one thing remains for sure- the Lord saved me. I arose from my sleep, and I feel peace, security, and triumph over opposition. Thank you, Lord, for saving me. I suppose all I need to remember is that God will never let me down. For greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world -(1 John 4:4). But I do wonder, what really happens should such a dream turn tragic?

CLARION CALL: History of The Past, Th...

KShs1,200.00
Every generation asks the same questions: Where did we come from? Why is our world the way it is? Where is history leading? The Bible offers a unified answer—one that stretches from the beginning of creation to the fulfillment of God's eternal kingdom.
Clarion Call: History of the Past, the Present, and the Future is an invitation to explore the Bible's prophetic message with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Drawing from the books of Daniel and Revelation, this study presents the unfolding story of God's plan for humanity through carefully organized charts and Scripture-based analysis. It connects the past, the present, and the future, helping readers see how biblical prophecy reveals the steady hand of God throughout history.
More than a study of prophetic events, this book points to the central message of Scripture: the character of God, the mission of Jesus Christ, and God's invitation to every person to respond in faith. It examines the Bible's final messages to the world, showing why they remain deeply relevant in an age of uncertainty, moral confusion, and global change.
Whether you are new to the study of prophecy or have spent years searching the Scriptures, Clarion Call encourages you to examine God's Word for yourself. Its visual format and straightforward presentation make complex prophetic themes easier to follow while remaining firmly rooted in the biblical text.
The Bible declares that God's final message is proclaimed to "every nation, tribe, language, and people." This book is written in that same spirit—inviting readers from every background to consider the evidence of Scripture, understand the times in which we live, and discover the hope found in God's promises.
As history moves toward its appointed conclusion, God's call remains clear. This is an invitation to look beyond today's headlines, see the larger story of redemption, and prepare your heart for the future He has revealed.
