The Secret Is Out: SWITCHING FROM VIC...

Finally, this book is out in print. It's been tonnes of work here and there to polish it to a comprehensible piece. It's been baby steps right from the first day we started working, a one-step at a time scenario. I feel that so many people hide in the shadows of who they really are. They really need to surface and bring out their authentic selves to the world. If people were not hiding and wearing facades, then I should be seeing more of this kind of book.   I literally got perched on my seat edges reading this story. At some point, I was mad about the occurrences. The setting and protagonist's actions overwhelmed me. I was totally anticipating of a happy ending, a remedy. But then I knew this was just a reflection of a doomed society and not just the narrator's world. It is a derivative of the real world vividly told by someone who did not flinch from fear of criticism and or judgment. She was not looking to lie or sugarcoat to live with the person in the mirror. She threw caution out of the window and came out flaunting her authentic self. She did not try to peel out of her skin because people might judge her. The cliffhangers in the story got me anticipating for the next line of action in this story. I still hope there would be a book 2.   Synopsis   The protagonist introduces the reader to the world of a little girl growing up with her parents in the village of Othaya in the interior of colonial Kenya. Even though her parents were still around, they could not satisfactorily cater to her emotional needs, and this crumbled her life and stifled her future. Unwanted pregnancy in her teenage years cripples her life. With sheer grit, she completes high school. In the roller coaster of life, she finds herself at crossroads in the quest to cater to her family's needs due to her selfless nature. She ends up in the streets and engages herself in commercial sex that was never forthcoming. The hand-to-mouth life was not eliminating her family's devastating situation. She gets trapped in a web of illicit sex in a quest to acquire dirty monies and even graduates to drugging her victims to rob them. It lands her in hot soup, and she finds herself in prison. Her newfound lover sacrifices himself to save her from those predicaments. He breaks the law when he engages in a robbery with violence spree where he is nabbed and convicted for robbery with violence. The narration revolves around a girl's life that turns dramatic due to bottled trauma and devastating home situations caused by poverty and neglect. It is a clear account of how someone trapped in the same web of victim mentality can switch to masterpiece mentality once and for all through prayers and submission of oneself to God. The theme in this narration includes poverty, love, betrayal, and family. Diverse topics from the bible have been delved into and incorporated into this story as derivatives that invoke fundamental thematic aspects.   Does the protagonist rise above it?   For a copy of the same, place your order. What is truly at stake in politics? Nothing less than how we should live, as individuals and as communities. This book goes beyond the surface headlines, the fake news and the hysteria to explore the timeless questions posed and answers offered by a diverse group of the 30 greatest political thinkers who have ever lived. Are we political, economic, or religious animals? Should we live in small city-states, nations, or multinational empires? What values should politics promote? Should wealth be owned privately or in common? Do animals also have rights? There is no idea too radical for this global assortment of thinkers, which includes: Confucius; Plato; Augustine; Machiavelli; Burke; Wollstonecraft; Marx; Nietzsche; Gandhi; Qutb; Arendt; Nussbaum, Naess and Rawls. In each brief chapter, the authors paint a vivid portrait of these often prescient, always compelling political thinkers, showing how their ideas grew out of their own dramatic lives and times and evolved beyond them. Now more than ever we need to be reminded that politics can be a noble, inspiring and civilising art. And if we want to understand today's political world, we need to understand the foundations of politics and its architects. This is the perfect guide to both.

Eduardo Kariuki is conceived and born out of wedlock in Kenya. His German mother leaves the child with a foster mother. Whether the youngster will merely survive or thrive will depend on his desire to conquer the fears and doubts he faces, as a boy and then as a young man. Kariuki’s search for meaning in life takes him from Nairobi to Frankfurt, then to Freiburg im Breisgau and Habkern, Switzerland. He is back in Kenya in no time at all. But there is something still missing in his life. There is one more hurdle he must assail.   Wisdom Shall Die With You is a coming-of-age narrative that seamlessly weaves laugh-out-loud episodes of youthful exuberance and a touching love story with horror and heart-rending tragedy. It is a classic tale of the ages that will remain with you long after you have turned the last page.
