KShs1,300.00
The Dark Gold is a deeply personal memoir of enduring pain, questioning self-worth, and discovering that true value is never diminished by suffering - it is merely obscured. Through moments of heartbreak, resilience, and quiet hope, Zuhura Ali explores the unseen battles that shape us and the strength we uncover when everything else is stripped away. Born and raised in a Muslim family, Zuhura encountered Jesus Christ during her years in children's homes - a life-changing experience that transformed the course of her life. Today she serves vulnerable children, street-connected families, and her local church with compassion and unwavering faith. As a wife, mother, theology student, preacher, and teacher of God's Word, Zuhura writes from the conviction that God's faithfulness redeems every chapter of life. This is a book for anyone who has ever felt overlooked or forgotten. A reminder that life's greatest treasure is not found in outward success, but in the enduring gold that survives the darkness.

Captain Sabrina Nyanchera Morani has spent years navigating the skies at thirty-seven thousand feet, expertly handling turbulence everywhere except in her own love life. After one heartbreak too many, she's done chasing happily-ever-after. To her, men break promises, disappoint, and always end up leaving. So, she builds a life no one can take from her—a dream career with thousands of hours in the cockpit, and a heart permanently grounded. Then her best friend's brother-in-law happens. He’s charming, ridiculously persistent, and infuriatingly handsome. The carefree entrepreneur is everything Sabrina has sworn to avoid. Yet somewhere between a collaborative project, stolen weekends all over the globe, impossible chemistry, and a situationship neither of them intended to become something more, she begins to wonder if forever might actually exist. Kenzo Karani is a charismatic businessman, infamous for his lavish parties and even more infamous for never sticking around after the music stops. Growing up under the abusive shadow of his father, he learned early what kind of man he never wanted to become. Convinced that love only ends in pain and that commitment is a promise he is destined to break, he avoids it at all costs, choosing fleeting moments over forever. Then a gorgeous Dreamliner captain crashes into his carefully guarded life, lands squarely in his heart, and proves him spectacularly wrong. Suddenly, the man who never believed in forever finds himself chasing it because he can't imagine a future without her. Now he'll cross continents, challenge her fears, and fight for a future she no longer believes she's allowed to have.

The Good Year – Making the Most...

KShs1,500.00 KShs1,200.00
What are good years for? We spend much of our lives preparing for or adjusting to difficult times, seeking resilience to adversity and strong recovery in the aftermath. But what should we do when conditions are favorable - when pressure eases, opportunities widen, and there is room to build, invest, strengthen, or prepare? The Good Year explores that overlooked question. Here, the "good year" is not simply a year of prosperity or good fortune. It is a metaphor for any period in which circumstances create room - room to make choices, build capabilities, deepen relationships, prepare for the future, and shape what comes next. Drawing on examples from public systems, organizations, and personal life, The Good Year shows that favorable periods are often misunderstood. They are misread as permanent, consumed too quickly, or allowed to drift away without creating lasting value. Part reflection, part framework, and part practical guide, The Good Year argues that the true measure of favorable times is not how comfortable they are, but what they leave behind. At its heart, the book is about judgment: recognizing the room that life occasionally creates and using it, gradually and deliberately, to build a future that is stronger, wiser, and less fragile than the present.

From a humble beginning as a son of employees in white settlers' farms in the central Rift Valley, Dr Francis K. Sang overcame many odds to rise through the ranks of the Kenya Police and become the 4th Kenyan Director of the Criminal Investigation Department. He served in this position for 4 years before he was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the changeover of government in Kenya at the end of 2002. He was tasked with the establishment of the Nairobi Secretariat to coordinate issues to do with small arms in the region. This he did and later helped transform the secretariat into the Regional Centre for Small Arms (RECSA), a regional inter-governmental body that coordinates activities aimed at controlling and reducing the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the Eastern Africa, Great Lakes and Horn of Africa region and bordering states. In this autobiography, he relates his experiences, from the difficult circumstances surrounding his birth and childhood, his struggles to get an education in spite of the many obstacles that he faced and his experiences in the police force, particularly in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) during the tenure of the 2nd President of Kenya, Daniel Arap Moi. He also relates his experiences after the NARC Government took over in 2002 and sent most senior security officers in the former government packing, either on retirement or on transfer to other less prestigious positions. He further relates how, through determination, he has been able to achieve his academic dreams which had been deferred earlier in his life owing to financial constraints, culminating in the acquisition of a PhD late in life. He also speaks about the role his family has played in enabling him to achieve all he has in his life. Reflecting on his long journey that has brought him to the place where he is today, the author also gives a number of insights on his work and life. This autobiography should serve as interesting reading to the general public as well as to persons serving in the disciplined forces, considering that it is the first from amongst persons that have served in the police force and risen through the ranks to the very top.

The Hidden Rock

KShs1,200.00
In this breathtaking tale, Ochieng MC Okoth invites us into the vibrant and dangerous world of the Kingdom of Ogwato. The story follows Oba, a young man whose life is a beautiful, but a messy tangle of loyalty and love. While he navigates the delicate balance between two very different women, his world is suddenly set on fire by a violent struggle for the throne. The author does a magnificent job of showing how one man’s quiet life can be swept up into the grand history of a nation. When the noble King Awaje is murdered, the story transforms into a heart-pounding mission of survival. Oba becomes a hero not because he wants to be, but because he must protect the innocent Princess Abiero and the sacred “Hidden Rock”; a powerful symbol of the kingdom’s true soul. This is more than just a story; it is a stunning journey about the heavy price of a crown and the incredible courage found in an ordinary young heart. It is a must-read for anyone who loves a story that is as emotional as it is exciting.

A woman can survive a lonely marriage, an empty bed, a bitter divorce, a boardroom that keeps stealing her work, a family that calls pressure love, and a city that knows how to watch her without appearing to stare. But what happens when the one person who finally sees her has been watching too closely and lived inside her life literally for months. Across Cairo, Accra, Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Addis Ababa and Dar es Salaam, seven accomplished women are holding their lives together with elegance, discipline and just enough private denial to get through the day. Nadia has mastered the performance of a beautiful Cairo marriage that no longer touches her. Zara runs a major bank in Accra and returns each night to a house with one untouched side of the bed. Blessing is fighting to keep the technology company she built from being rewritten as her exhusband’s achievement. Dr Seun is newly divorced in Nairobi, funny, brilliant and pretending her freedom does not frighten her. Kefilwe has turned discipline into armour in Johannesburg. Tigist has mistaken endurance for faith in Addis Ababa. Zawadi, in Dar es Salaam, is still waiting to be chosen without being diminished. Then the men arrive. They listen, remember, and notice the exact wound each woman has spent years hiding in plain sight. They share songs, asks the right question, brings calm into a legal fight, knows when to wait, speaks the language of faith, family, work, grief and desire so fluently that it feels like love. For a while, it is almost beautiful. Until the wrong sentence appears in the wrong hands. Until a private message becomes public. Until money moves. Until a vanished profile leaves behind a trail the world was not supposed to find. Until one woman realises that being seen by the wrong person can be more dangerous than being ignored.
