A Gift from a Stranger is a play that explores the reality of HIV/Aids using a sharp satiric tone that sends readers uproarious with laughter from beginning to the end. But beneath this humour is a profound warning to society, and a desire to return humanity to the moral path. The play shocks readers into reform through the playwright's appropriation of wit, caricature and absurdity.
