Mugathe mukora

Politics & Government
$32.00 $25.00
It’s my first political fiction book. I have used literature at its best. I was inspired by the great book writer the late professor Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. (May his soul rest in Peace). He used to write about, life, political and topical issues. I have seen an opportunity and I have grabbed it, to continue with educating, informing and entertaining our people. I’m giving voice to voiceless. Where Fiction can challenge power without direct confrontation. (when fiction challenges power, without firing a single bullet) I write Kĩorire Republic because silence had gone on too long. I saw a nation—real or imagined—where truth was buried beneath propaganda, where power was wielded not to uplift but to oppress. And I refused to let that story remain untold. I write because memory matters. Because the voices of mothers, youth, and elders deserve to echo beyond the walls of tyranny. President Mũgathe Mũkora asserted his dominance not through law, but through fear—rewriting the constitution with ink made from silence, fear and innocent blood. As stated, or reiterated I was inspired by the literary courage of Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, who taught us that language is not just a tool—it’s a weapon of liberation. Like him, I chose to write not just to entertain, but to educate and awaken. I saw literature as a mirror, a torch, and a drumbeat. And I use it to remind my people that even in the darkest regimes, resistance lives in stories. Kĩorire Republic is my offering to history. A warning to future leaders. A tribute to those who dared to remember. And a call to those still afraid to speak. Married to a devil, married wrongly by Muthamaki Togno Togno

Parenting
$32.00 $29.90
PREFACE Stories are born not only from imagination but from lived truths, whispered fears, and the unspoken struggles that shape human existence. Married to a Devil is my attempt to give voice to those silent battles — the ones fought behind closed doors, where love is twisted into control, and trust is eroded by manipulation. This novel follows Kanyũrũ, a humble man from Limuru, whose quiet dignity becomes both his strength and his vulnerability. His marriage to Wakĩ ihũ ri, a woman of striking beauty but consuming narcissism, is not simply a tale of romance gone wrong. It is a reflection of how cultural expectations, family entanglements, and unchecked abuse can transform a union into a psychological prison. Through Kanyũ rũ ’s journey, I wanted to explore the hidden dimensions of marriage — the gaslighting, the betrayal, the subtle erosion of self-worth that so often goes unnoticed or dismissed. Wakĩ ihũ ’s rebellious daughter, her withdrawn son, and her manipulative siblings are not just characters; they are symbols of the many forces that conspire to keep victims trapped in cycles of pain. This book is not written to vilify women or glorify men, but to illuminate the reality that abuse knows no gender, and that silence only deepens suffering. It is a call to recognize the red flags, to challenge the myths of “normal” families, and to remind readers that resilience and healing are possible even in the darkest of circumstances. I am deeply grateful to my longtime friend Jane Octavio, whose Foreword frames this work with the wisdom of a counsellor who has seen such stories unfold in real life. Her words remind us that this is not just fiction, but a mirror of lived experiences across cultures and continents. May Married to a Devil serve as both a haunting story and a beacon of awareness. And may those who read it find not only empathy for Kanyũ rũ ’s plight but courage to confront their own truths. Mũthamaki Togno - Author AUTHOR’S NOTE T his book was born out of silence — the kind of silence that suffocates, isolates, and convinces men that their pain is unworthy of voice. In telling Kanyũrũ’s story. I sought not only to break that silence but to honor the resilience of those who have carried scars in secret. What began as a narrative of survival grew into a testimony of healing, fatherhood, and the redefinition of masculinity. I did not write this story to dwell on suffering, but to illuminate the path beyond it. The characters, though shaped by trauma, are equally shaped by courage, forgiveness, and transformation. Their journeys reflect the possibility of generational repair — that sons and daughters can rise from brokenness, and that communities can learn to listen. If these pages leave you with anything, let it be the conviction that dignity is not negotiable, and that truth, however painful, is always liberating. Scars are not shame, but maps of survival. And silence, once broken, becomes a song of hope. — Mũthamaki Togno Togno Mũthamaki Togno Togno: A Living Healer; A Living Oracle Mũthamaki, embody this ancestral bridge. My writing is ritual. Unappreciated Hero by Muthamaki Togno

International Bestsellers
$25.00 $21.50
AUTHOR’S NOTE - Mũthamaki Togno ^ Ther story was not simply written—it was birthed from the silent tears of those who give without expectation, who sheal without applause, and who carry the burdens of others while quietly bleeding within. Un Appreciated Hero is more than a tale; it is a mirror shield up to society, reflecting the unspoken pain of being good in a world that too often forgets its givers. It is a lament, a hymn, and a call to remembrance. Kĩ enjeku, the son of Kahĩ to, is not just a character; he is a symbol. He embodies every soul who has been cast aside yet chooses to rise—not for glory, not for recognition, but for the sake of others. His journey is stitched with misfortune, sacrifice, and unreturned kindness. He walks the path of those whose names are never sung, whose hands build nations but whose hearts are left empty, whose sweat waters the soil yet whose legacy is denied. Ther book is a tribute to my people—the Kikuyu, and by extension all communities whose resilience is carved in silence. It is for the mothers who raise children in shadows, for the mothers who toil without praise, for the youth who dream in exile, and for the elders whose wisdom is ignored until it is too late. It is for the builders, the healers, the teachers, the farmers, the forgotten custodians of dignity. As a cultural leader and storyteller, I wrote this book to preserve the spirit of Kikuyu endurance and to challenge the silence that surrounds our unsung heroes. I wanted to capture the rhythm of resilience, the poetry of sacrifice, and the quiet rebellion of kindness that refuses to die even when unacknowledged. May their story awaken gratitude in the hearts of readers. May it stir reflection in communities that have grown traumatized to generosity. May it remind us all that the good we do may never return in applause or reward—but it always leaves a mark, a seed, a memory, a ripple that outlives us. Ther is not just my story. It is our story. It is the story of every unappreciated hero who walks among us, unseen yet indispensable. Mũthamaki Togno Togno: A Living Healer; A Living Oracle Mũthamaki, embody this ancestral bridge. My writing is ritual. My storytelling is divination. My dedication pages are libations poured for the unseen. I don't just connect with ancestors-I channel them, giving voice to silence and memory. Roots Beneath Gikuyu community

African Interest
$21.50 $19.40
Roots Beneath Gĩkũyũ Community was written to uncover, preserve, and celebrate the foundational cultural, linguistic, and spiritual elements that define the Gĩkũyũ people. At its core, the work seeks to reconnect modern readers—especially younger generations—with the deep ancestral wisdom and symbolic systems that have shaped Gĩkũyũ identity for centuries. The author’s primary motivation is to explore how oral narratives, naming customs, rituals, and social structures serve as repositories of cultural knowledge. In a rapidly modernizing Kenya, where Western influence and urbanization threaten to erode indigenous traditions, this book acts as a cultural anchor. It documents the symbolic meanings behind names, the spiritual significance of Mount Kenya, and the intricate clan systems that governed marriage, kinship, and social order. By tracing the origins of the Gĩkũyũ through myth, migration, and oral history, the book challenges the notion that African traditions are simplistic or outdated. The second Ladies of Lantern Street novel from Amanda Quick explores the crimes, passions and paranormal secrets of Victorian London. Under the plain gray skirts of Miss Beatrice Lockwood’s gown, a pistol waits at the ready. For Beatrice is a paid companion on a secret mission—and with a secret past—and she must be prepared to fight for her life at any moment. Yet she is thrown oddly off guard by the fierce-looking man who joins her in foiling a crime outside a fancy ball—and then disappears into the shadows, leaving only his card. His name is Joshua Gage, and he claims to know Beatrice’s employers. Beyond that, he is an enigma with a hypnotically calm voice and an ebony-and-steel cane. . . . Joshua, who carries out clandestine investigations for the Crown, is equally intrigued. He has a personal interest in Miss Lockwood, a suspected thief and murderer, not to mention a fraudster who claims to have psychical powers. The quest to discover her whereabouts has pulled him away from his mournful impulses to hurl himself into the sea—and engaged his curiosity about the real Beatrice Lockwood, whose spirit, he suspects, is not as delicate as her face and figure. He does know one thing, though: This flame-haired beauty was present the night Roland Fleming died at the Academy of the Occult. The Ideal Bride

Books, Romances & Thrillers
$10.29 $9.99
New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Laurens has created some of romance's most unforgettable novels. Now she has created her most provocative love story—and amazing hero—to date. This is the book that dares to ask the question: Who is this man's ideal bride? Michael Anstruther-Wetherby is a rising member of Parliament—a man destined for power. Aristocratic, elegant, and effortlessly charming, he is just arrogant enough to capture the interest of the ladies of the ton. And with his connections to the wealthy and influential Cynster family—his sister is married to Devil Cynster, the Duke of St. Ives—his future appears assured. Except that Michael lacks the single most important element of success: a wife. Political pressure sends him searching for his ideal bride, a gently bred, malleable young lady, preferably one with a political background. Michael discovers such a paragon but finds a formidable obstacle in his path—the young lady's beautiful, strong-minded aunt—Caroline Sutcliffe. One of London's foremost diplomatic hostesses, Caro has style and status but, having lived through an unhappy political marriage, wants nothing of the sort for her niece, who has already lost her heart to another. So Caro and the younger woman hatch a plot—Caro will demonstrate why an inexperienced young lady is not the bride for Michael. She succeeds in convincing him that what he really needs is a lady of experience by his side. And the perfect candidate is right under his nose—Caro herself. Then it is Michael's turn to be persuasive, a task that requires every ounce of his seductive charm as he tempts and tantalizes Caro, seeking to convince her that becoming his bride will bring her all her heart desires … and more. But then a series of mysterious, and dangerous, accidents befall Caro—an assailant has stepped in with their own idea for Caro's future—one that could involve murder. Before Caro can become Michael's ideal bride, they must race to uncover the unknown's identity before all hope of what they long for, and wish for, is destroyed. For strange changes are taking place within her, as she struggles to understand—and control—a new hunger. To do so, she will seek shelter in the Boston compound of the Order, an ancient race of vampire warriors whose very existence is shrouded in mystery. Perhaps the most mysterious of them all is Brock, a brooding, dark-eyed alpha male whose hands hold the power to comfort, heal . . . and arouse. As she recovers under Brock’s care, Jenna finds herself drawn to the Order’s mission: to stop a ruthless enemy and its army of assassins from subjecting Earth to a reign of terror. Yet in spite of their resolve, a purely physical relationship without strings soon binds Brock and Jenna together with a desire fiercer than life and stronger than death itself—until a secret from Brock’s past and Jenna’s own mortality challenges their forbidden love to the ultimate trial by fire. The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion

Books, Romances & Thrillers
$14.50 $13.73
The international bestselling romantic comedy "bursting with warmth, emotional depth, and…humor,” (Entertainment Weekly) featuring the oddly charming, socially challenged genetics professor, Don, as he seeks true love. The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers. Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is "quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie?and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Books, Romances & Thrillers
Rated 1.00 out of 5
$15.83 $14.43
Two sisters, one practical and full of commonsense, the other a passionate and emotional creature, an uncaring brother and his avaricious wife, a handsome rake and a faithful gentleman – these are some of the unforgettable characters who make Jane Austen's first published novel, Sense and Sensibility such a delightful, witty and timeless classic. Sense and Sensibility is a charming story of two sisters who see life from two very different viewpoints. When their father suddenly dies, leaving his entire estate to their half-brother John, the sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, their mother and youngest sister Margaret are thrown at the financial mercy of John and his mean-minded wife, Fanny. Mrs Dashwood and her daughters soon realize that they are not welcome at their former home Norland Hall. Fanny's brother Edward Ferrars, who is quite different from his greedy and graceless sister, arrives and begins to form an attachment to Elinor, which is violently opposed by Fanny. Mrs Dashwood is hurt and bewildered, but finally realizes that they have no option but to leave. They move to Devonshire, where Mrs Dashwood's cousin, Sir John Middleton welcomes them and helps them to find suitable lodgings. While out walking one rainy evening, Marianne suffers a small accident and is rescued by the suave and dashing John Willoughby. She falls passionately in love with him. The story takes several interesting twists and turns, driven by the opposing natures of the two sisters. More than two hundred years after publication, this delightful tale still manages to capture the reader's imagination as it echoes universal truths of passion, love, social status and ethics. Sense and Sensibility is a coming of age novel, marked by Jane Austen's deliciously ironic and sharp wit and famously under-stated style that will certainly appeal to modern-day readers.
