Mugathe mukora

Politics & Government
KShs4,000.00 KShs3,000.00
It’s my first political fiction book. I have used literature at its best. I was inspired by the great book writer the late professor Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o. (May his soul rest in Peace). He used to write about, life, political and topical issues. I have seen an opportunity and I have grabbed it, to continue with educating, informing and entertaining our people. I’m giving voice to voiceless. Where Fiction can challenge power without direct confrontation. (when fiction challenges power, without firing a single bullet) I write Kĩorire Republic because silence had gone on too long. I saw a nation—real or imagined—where truth was buried beneath propaganda, where power was wielded not to uplift but to oppress. And I refused to let that story remain untold. I write because memory matters. Because the voices of mothers, youth, and elders deserve to echo beyond the walls of tyranny. President Mũgathe Mũkora asserted his dominance not through law, but through fear—rewriting the constitution with ink made from silence, fear and innocent blood. As stated, or reiterated I was inspired by the literary courage of Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, who taught us that language is not just a tool—it’s a weapon of liberation. Like him, I chose to write not just to entertain, but to educate and awaken. I saw literature as a mirror, a torch, and a drumbeat. And I use it to remind my people that even in the darkest regimes, resistance lives in stories. Kĩorire Republic is my offering to history. A warning to future leaders. A tribute to those who dared to remember. And a call to those still afraid to speak. Married to a devil, married wrongly by Muthamaki Togno Togno

Parenting
KShs4,000.00 KShs3,700.00
PREFACE Stories are born not only from imagination but from lived truths, whispered fears, and the unspoken struggles that shape human existence. Married to a Devil is my attempt to give voice to those silent battles — the ones fought behind closed doors, where love is twisted into control, and trust is eroded by manipulation. This novel follows Kanyũrũ, a humble man from Limuru, whose quiet dignity becomes both his strength and his vulnerability. His marriage to Wakĩ ihũ ri, a woman of striking beauty but consuming narcissism, is not simply a tale of romance gone wrong. It is a reflection of how cultural expectations, family entanglements, and unchecked abuse can transform a union into a psychological prison. Through Kanyũ rũ ’s journey, I wanted to explore the hidden dimensions of marriage — the gaslighting, the betrayal, the subtle erosion of self-worth that so often goes unnoticed or dismissed. Wakĩ ihũ ’s rebellious daughter, her withdrawn son, and her manipulative siblings are not just characters; they are symbols of the many forces that conspire to keep victims trapped in cycles of pain. This book is not written to vilify women or glorify men, but to illuminate the reality that abuse knows no gender, and that silence only deepens suffering. It is a call to recognize the red flags, to challenge the myths of “normal” families, and to remind readers that resilience and healing are possible even in the darkest of circumstances. I am deeply grateful to my longtime friend Jane Octavio, whose Foreword frames this work with the wisdom of a counsellor who has seen such stories unfold in real life. Her words remind us that this is not just fiction, but a mirror of lived experiences across cultures and continents. May Married to a Devil serve as both a haunting story and a beacon of awareness. And may those who read it find not only empathy for Kanyũ rũ ’s plight but courage to confront their own truths. Mũthamaki Togno - Author AUTHOR’S NOTE T his book was born out of silence — the kind of silence that suffocates, isolates, and convinces men that their pain is unworthy of voice. In telling Kanyũrũ’s story. I sought not only to break that silence but to honor the resilience of those who have carried scars in secret. What began as a narrative of survival grew into a testimony of healing, fatherhood, and the redefinition of masculinity. I did not write this story to dwell on suffering, but to illuminate the path beyond it. The characters, though shaped by trauma, are equally shaped by courage, forgiveness, and transformation. Their journeys reflect the possibility of generational repair — that sons and daughters can rise from brokenness, and that communities can learn to listen. If these pages leave you with anything, let it be the conviction that dignity is not negotiable, and that truth, however painful, is always liberating. Scars are not shame, but maps of survival. And silence, once broken, becomes a song of hope. — Mũthamaki Togno Togno Mũthamaki Togno Togno: A Living Healer; A Living Oracle Mũthamaki, embody this ancestral bridge. My writing is ritual. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling

Books, Kids & Teens
KShs2,090.00 KShs1,990.00
This special edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré. There is a door at the end of a silent corridor. And it’s haunting Harry Potter’s dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror? Here are just a few things on Harry’s mind: A Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey A venomous, disgruntled house-elf Ron as keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team The looming terror of the end-of-term Ordinary Wizarding Level exams …and of course, the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. In the richest installment yet of J. K. Rowling’s seven-part story, Harry Potter is faced with the unreliability of the very government of the magical world and the impotence of the authorities at Hogwarts. Despite this (or perhaps because of it), he finds depth and strength in his friends, beyond what even he knew; boundless loyalty; and unbearable sacrifice. Though thick runs the plot (as well as the spine), readers will race through these pages and leave Hogwarts, like Harry, wishing only for the next train back.
