UNPLUGGED – What Our Fathers Did not Tell Us

As children, we learnt from Disney that if you treat her like a queen, she will treat you like a King. We were also taught that a man should go on one knee while proposing to a woman because women are the prize. We were also taught that we should listen to our wives and be gentlemen because women like nice boys they can trust and not bad boys who weren’t faithful. Men have tested these ideas, and thousands of men have lived to share their experiences and results. This book consolidates what men have learnt about intergender dynamics: what works and what does not work.

Today, marriage rates are declining. Forty per cent of single black women in the US are single mothers who prioritize getting babies over getting in a stable long-term commitment, aka marriage. Why do many young girls today prefer becoming side chicks to high-value men rather than settling in marriage with an average man?

In 2019, the American Psychological Association labelled traditional masculinity as harmful. But if so, why are women striving to be like men? What is the impact of masculine females on relationships? Why are women being told to “act like a lady and think like a man” if masculinity is harmful?

What attracts women to men, and how can men maintain that attachment? In the age of social media, where women get free attention and validation from hundreds of men, how do men in long term relationships deal with partners who feel they have so many options?

Women file for divorce 70-80% of the time in the western world. How can men navigate marriage with modern women incentivized to divorce by divorce laws? Why did the Greeks equate the feminine with chaos, represented as the goddess Pandora? Why are most oracles in epics female, and why did God tell Adam that his first sin was listening to Eve?

On average, men’s handgrip strength, testosterone levels, and overall masculinity is declining, while women’s enrolment rates in universities have outstripped those of men. Among trans adults, the majority are men who say they were born female. Why? Why is masculinity on the decline?

In 2021, before a whole school assembly at Brauer College in Victoria, Australia, the male students were all told to stand up, turn to a girl in their class and say sorry. Yet they had done nothing wrong. Based on Census Bureau historical data and Morgan Stanley forecasts, 45% of prime working-age women (ages 25-44) will be single by 2030—the largest share in history—up from 41% in 2018.

This book traces the origin of the steady decline of the man’s role in the family. It also seeks to help men understand female nature, revitalize masculinity and build full-stack men who can navigate relationships while providing leadership in an increasingly gynocentric world that has largely silenced men.
This book will plug you from comforting lies to cold hard truths.

Shoreline: Origins by Jacob Aliet

Books
KShs1,500.00 KShs1,150.00
SHORELINE ORIGINS. During a desperate moment in a hospital ward, a sick man makes a pact with a dark force to save his life. But he later breaks the pact. A deformed baby girl is later born in the wake of the broken pact. The villagers reject her and demand that she is killed and thrown away because she is a bad omen. Her desperate mother hides her at the shoreline of the lake and secretly nurses her. A creature finds the baby and adopts her. The baby’s genetic defects provide her with adaptations that enable her to live in water. She returns to the village as a young woman but the villagers attack her believing that she is a demon. She narrowly survives the horrific attack and escapes back to the lake. Seeing her injured and bleeding, her vengeful lake mother retaliates with devastating consequences. After the carnage, the villagers assemble fearsome warriors, experienced fishermen and skilled hunters from far and wide to kill the creature. What follows is a series of spell binding events and revelations that lead to the most unexpected finale. In the middle of this conflict, a doctor doggedly struggles to find if any scientific advancements can be achieved from the disturbing occurrences that shake the rural community. Dreams and fears, like the land and the lake, meet at the shoreline.

Unplugged 5 – Operant Conditioning by Jacob Aliet

Books, Self Help & Motivation, Social Issues
KShs1,700.00 KShs1,500.00
UNPLUGGED V: Operant Conditioning What does it mean to be a man in an era where masculinity is mocked, purpose is blurred, and love has become transactional? In UNPLUGGED V: Operant Conditioning, Jacob Aliet delivers his most raw, unflinching, and revelatory volume yet in the UNPLUGGED series. This is not just a book — it’s a weapon against manipulation, a manual for reclaiming personal sovereignty, and a manifesto for men lost in the maze of modern relationships. Drawing from behavioral psychology, real-world anecdotes, evolutionary science, and red-pill philosophy, Aliet exposes the hidden dynamics that condition men to become subservient — emotionally, financially, and sexually — in their own homes and relationships. With brutal clarity, he dismantles the myths of “happy wife, happy life,” unpacks why men are being desexualized and manipulated, and shows how operant conditioning is quietly shaping male behavior in marriages, churches, offices, and bedrooms. From the crisis of the middle-class man, to why women "make rules for betas and break them for alphas", to the lies men and women tell themselves, and finally, to how to walk away and reclaim your frame — this book confronts the cultural illusions suffocating modern masculinity. 🔥 Why you should read it: • If you're tired of the emotional bureaucracy that nice guys go through… • If you're questioning why success doesn’t bring fulfillment… • If you've ever felt manipulated, emasculated, or invisible in a relationship… • If you want to raise strong sons in a world that is actively weakening men… Then this book will feel like a slap, a sermon, and a sword. UNPLUGGED V is not for the weak. It’s for the man who’s ready to see the truth, bear the cost, and live free.

The Two Body Problem by Jacob Aliet

Adult & Contemporary Romance, Books
KShs1,000.00 KShs650.00
The Two Body Problem What if everything you were told about love, sacrifice, and partnership was wrong? In The Two-Body Problem, Jacob Aliet dismantles the silent script that has derailed countless men: give everything, expect loyalty, lose yourself. With clinical precision and emotional candor, he exposes how modern men are conditioned to trade ambition for affection, sovereignty for supportiveness—and how that trade often ends in betrayal, invisibility, or quiet collapse. This is not a book about blaming women. It is a manual for remembering who you are. Drawing from evolutionary psychology, real-life case studies, and unapologetic red-pill truths, Aliet reframes masculinity not as toxic or outdated, but as purposeful, strategic, and non-negotiable. You’ll journey through: • The hidden epidemic of male emotional erasure • Why “supporting her dream” may cost you your purpose • How the digital age created a Simp Economy—and how to escape it • The real stakes of the Two-Body Problem in dual-career relationships • Frameworks for reclaiming masculine edge, emotional autonomy, and mission clarity From boardrooms to bedrooms, from broken marriages to broken men, this book is a mirror, a map, and a manifesto. Whether you're newly in love, recovering from loss, or seeking to lead without losing yourself—The Two-Body Problem offers the language, the tools, and the fire to rise again. You don’t have to abandon love. You just have to stop abandoning yourself.

THE BETRAYAL BLUEPRINT by Jacob Aliet

Self Help & Motivation
KShs800.00 KShs650.00
Betrayal is not chaos—it’s calculus. In a world where loyalty is a myth and infidelity the new normal, The Betrayal Blueprint shatters the comforting illusions of modern love. Drawing on evolutionary psychology, behavioral science, and red pill philosophy, Jacob Aliet exposes the hidden architecture of cheating. Through groundbreaking models like the Infidelity Probability Matrix (IPM) and Cheater’s Signature Model (CSM), he reveals how attraction, opportunity, and psychology converge to produce predictable patterns of betrayal. This is not a book about bitterness — it’s a manual for awareness. It teaches men to decode emotional withdrawal, detect behavioral red flags, and understand the sociosexual spectrum that separates the loyal from the restless. For men seeking clarity, women seeking truth, and thinkers daring enough to look beneath romance into raw biology, The Betrayal Blueprint is both mirror and map — showing why infidelity isn’t random, but written in our psychology. Read slowly. Reflect deeply. Learn before it burns.

What does it take to win success and influence? Some people think that in today’s hyper-competitive world, it’s the tough, take-no-prisoners type who comes out on top. But in reality, argues New York Times bestselling author Dave Kerpen, it’s actually those with the best people skills who win the day. Those who build the right relationships. Those who truly understand and connect with their colleagues, their customers, their partners. Those who can teach, lead, and inspire. In a world where we are constantly connected, and social media has become the primary way we communicate, the key to getting ahead is being the person others like, respect, and trust. Because no matter who you are or what profession you're in, success is contingent less on what you can do for yourself, but on what other people are willing to do for you. Here, through 53 bite-sized, easy-to-execute, and often counterintuitive tips, you’ll learn to master the 11 People Skills that will get you more of what you want at work, at home, and in life. Focus by Daniel Goleman

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs1,890.00 KShs1,690.00
For more than two decades, psychologist and journalist Daniel Goleman has been scouting the leading edge of the human sciences for what's new, surprising, and important. In Focus, he delves into the science of attention in all its varieties, presenting a long overdue discussion of this little-noticed and under-rated mental asset that matters enormously for how we navigate life. Attention works much like a muscle: use it poorly and it can wither; work it well and it grows. In an era of unstoppable distractions, Goleman persuasively argues that now more than ever we must learn to sharpen focus if we are to contend with, let alone thrive, in a complex world. Goleman boils down attention research into a threesome: inner, other, and outer focus. A well-lived life demands we be nimble at each. Goleman shows why high-achievers need all three kinds of focus, as demonstrated by rich case studies from fields as diverse as competitive sports, education, the arts, and business. Those who excel rely on what he calls Smart Practices such as mindfulness meditation, focused preparation and recovery, positive emotions and connections, and mental "prosthetics" that help them improve habits, add new skills, and sustain excellence. Combining cutting-edge research with practical findings, Focus reveals what distinguishes experts from amateurs and stars from average performers. Ultimately, Focus calls upon readers not only to pay attention to what matters most to them personally, but also to turn their attention to the pressing problems of the wider world, to the powerless and the poor, and to the future, not just to the seductively simple demands of here-and-now.

Wizard of the Crow by Ngugi wa Thiongo

Books, African Interest, Kenya Fiction
Rated 3.00 out of 5
KShs3,500.00 KShs2,990.00
Brief Summary From the exiled Kenyan novelist, playwright, poet, and literary critic--a magisterial comic novel that is certain to take its place as a landmark of postcolonial African literature. In exile now for more than twenty years, Ngugi wa Thiongo has become one of the most widely read African writers of our time, the power and scope of his work garnering him international attention and praise. His aim in Wizard of the Crow is, in his own words, nothing less than "to sum up Africa of the twentieth century in the context of two thousand years of world history.” Commencing in "our times” and set in the "Free Republic of Aburiria,” the novel dramatizes with corrosive humor and keenness of observation a battle for control of the souls of the Aburirian people. Among the contenders: His High Mighty Excellency; the eponymous Wizard, an avatar of folklore and wisdom; the corrupt Christian Ministry; and the nefarious Global Bank. Fashioning the stories of the powerful and the ordinary into a dazzling mosaic, Wizard of the Crow reveals humanity in all its endlessly surprising complexity. Informed by richly enigmatic traditional African storytelling, Wizard of the Crow is a masterpiece, the crowning achievement in Ngugl wa Thiongo’s career thus far.

Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend

Books, International Bestsellers, Self Help & Motivation, Women
KShs3,500.00 KShs3,290.00
Brief Summary Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No to Take Control of Your Life. Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries impact all areas of our lives: Physical boundaries help us determine who may touch us and under what circumstances -- Mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts and opinions -- Emotional boundaries help us to deal with our own emotions and disengage from the harmful, manipulative emotions of others -- Spiritual boundaries help us to distinguish God's will from our own and give us renewed awe for our Creator -- Often, Christians focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations. When confronted with their lack of boundaries, they ask: - Can I set limits and still be a loving person? - What are legitimate boundaries? - What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries? - How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money? - Aren't boundaries selfish? - Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I consider setting boundaries? Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend offer biblically-based answers to these and other tough questions, showing us how to set healthy boundaries with our parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers, and even ourselves.

Unbowed by Wangari Maathai

Born in a rural Kenyan village in 1940, Wangari Maathai was already an iconoclast as a child, determined to get an education even though most African girls then were uneducated. In her remarkable and inspiring autobiography, she tells of her studies with Catholic missionaries, earning bachelors and master's degrees in the United States, and becoming the first woman both to earn a PhD and to head a university department in Kenya. She tells of her numerous run-ins with the brutal government of Daniel arap Moi and of the political and personal reasons that compelled her, in 1977, to establish the Green Belt Movement, which spread from Kenya across Africa, and which helps restore indigenous forests while assisting rural women by paying them to plant trees in their villages. Maathai's extraordinary courage and determination helped transform Kenya's government into the democracy in which she now serves as Deputy Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources and as a Member of Parliament. Eventually her achievement was internationally recognized in the Nobel Peace Prize, awarded in recognition of her 'contribution to sustainable development, human rights, and peace'. In Unbowed, we are in the presence of a hugely charismatic yet humble woman whose remarkable story carries with it an inspiring message of hope. Hers is an extraordinary story, spanning different worlds and changing times, and revealing what the courage, determination, tenacity and humour of one good woman can achieve; how as small a thing as planting a seedling and watering it can made all the difference in the world.

So, then. You want a story and I will tell you one... Afghanistan, 1952. Abdullah and his sister Pari live with their father and stepmother in the small village of Shadbagh. Their father, Saboor, is constantly in search of work and they struggle together through poverty and brutal winters. To Abdullah, Pari - as beautiful and sweet-natured as the fairy for which she was named - is everything. More like a parent than a brother, Abdullah will do anything for her, even trading his only pair of shoes for a feather for her treasured collection. Each night they sleep together in their cot, their heads touching, their limbs tangled. One day the siblings journey across the desert to Kabul with their father. Pari and Abdullah have no sense of the fate that awaits them there, for the event which unfolds will tear their lives apart; sometimes a finger must be cut to save the hand. Crossing generations and continents, moving from Kabul, to Paris, to San Francisco, to the Greek island of Tinos, with profound wisdom, depth, insight and compassion, Khaled Hosseini writes about the bonds that define us and shape our lives, the ways in which we help our loved ones in need, how the choices we make resonate through history and how we are often surprised by the people closest to us.

The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday

Books, Self Help & Motivation

The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations for Clarity, Effectiveness, and Serenity. A beautifully packaged, gifty daily devotional of Stoic wisdom, from the author of The Obstacle is the Way. Modern readers praise Stoic philosophy for its unique blend of practicality and wisdom. But it's admittedly hard for the average reader to decipher the Dover Thrift edition of Marcus Aurelius' work. The antiquated, needlessly formal language of most modern translations is stripped down in this book, revealing powerful aphorisms that cut straight to the heart of our day-to-day challenges. Presented in a page-per-day format, this daily resource of Stoic inspiration combines new translations of Seneca, Epictetus, and Zeno by Stephen Hanselman with calls to further reflection--and action--by Ryan Holiday. Arranged topically following the same three movements (Perception, Action, Will) that Holiday used in The Obstacle is the Way, this guide features twelve principles for overcoming obstacles and achieving greater satisfaction. Aimed at the high-octane, action-oriented, doers of our wired world, this book is intended to open to them a new daily ritual and a new orientation that will bring balanced action, insight, effectiveness, and serenity.

1984 by George Orwell

Books, Fiction and Non Fiction
Rated 4.50 out of 5
KShs1,990.00 KShs1,890.00
The year 1984 has come and gone, but George Orwell's prophetic, nightmarish vision in 1949 of the world we were becoming is timelier than ever. 1984 is still the great modern classic of "negative utopia" -a startlingly original and haunting novel that creates an imaginary world that is completely convincing, from the first sentence to the last four words. No one can deny the novel's hold on the imaginations of whole generations, or the power of its admonitions -a power that seems to grow, not lessen, with the passage of time.
