A guide for Emerging Leaders How to beat the imposter syndrome by Mary Kinyua

Elevate your leadership skills and your performance while maintaining a meaningful personal life

I have had the luck of being mentored by some great leaders and I in turn have had the opportunity to mentor some great leaders. I have also read numerous books on leadership development. It is from these first- and second-hand resources that I have gathered the habits that young leaders should emulate to beat the imposter syndrome and develop into leaders of repute.

• These habits when practiced with consistency will help you to:
Understand that you have what it takes to succeed in your career
Feel confident about your leadership skills
Stay on top of your tasks and responsibilities
  Plan ahead and stay organized
  Reduce anxiety, stress and fatigue
Maintain a meaningful personal life filled with ample time for self-care and for nurturing significant relationships
