The person you marry affects your destiny and success in a great way, hence the need to marry right. It’s therefore, of paramount importance, for the individual to think through why they want to marry in order to make an informed decision pertaining to this lifetime commitment.

This book, Why You Marry Wrong, discusses 30 reassons that lead people into wrong marriages.  The book encourages marriages that are
intentional rather than circumstantial. Marriages that are Intentional are beautiful and fulfilling to a couple and their children. On the other hand, when a couple marries out of pressure or situations might reach a point where they end up feeling like they made the wrong decision. It is my prayer that this book will inspire people to build happy and fulfilling marriages.

Description

Why do people marry? Why are many marriages on a cliff and at the verge of breaking? What foundations do people lay down in preparation for the marriage life? What is the role of parenting in raising children who have emotional stability, which impacts on their ability to create successful marriages in the future? Do we have couples who are role models for the young adults intending to get into marriage? Has the church done it right in preparing singles for dating? What is the significance of marital counselling to young adults who are intending to get married?

These are some of the pertinent issues I have discussed in this book WHY YOU MARRY WRONG to help people before committing to marriage and offering solutions to resolve conflicts to those already in marriage.

I have been reading this book and I am learning so much from the real life experiences shared. Paul is a gifted writer whose heart is in the right place to bring genuine transformation to people. Why we Marry Wrong is a wonderful book for those who are yet to be married and can learn what to avoid mistakes that bring in generational broken families and systems. I appreciate this book and highly recommend it to those yet to be married.

TIME MANAGEMENT FOR WINNING GRADES by Paul Wangari

CBC Workbooks
KShs400.00
Time is to a student what water is to a plant. Time is a very essential resource in the life of a student. Time management is a skill that can make or break visions depending on how one uses time. Every action takes time. This means that when time is wasted, the value of life is diluted. Students fail not because they cannot master content but majorly because they lack proper time management skills, especially usage and priority - that is how and when a student does his or her part. The book encourages students to be responsible with their time in order to realise a winning grade. It tries to show students how to use the available time optimally because time is limited and every individual is personally responsible for how they use their time.

PRESSURE PROOF

Kids & Teens
KShs600.00 KShs550.00
Pressure Proof – A Teen’s Guide Against Negative Peer Pressure Pressure Proof is more than a book—it is a practical guide and companion designed to help teenagers navigate the many pressures and influences that can shape their choices, character and future. The book helps teens understand what peer pressure is, how it works, and how seemingly small choices can have lasting consequences. It gives them practical tools to stand firm, think independently and make decisions that align with their values and purpose. Through Pressure Proof, teenagers are helped to: - Build self-awareness and confidence – understand who they are, their strengths, values and identity. - Recognise negative peer pressure – identify subtle and direct forms of influence before they lead to harmful choices. - Make wise decisions – develop critical thinking and learn to consider consequences before acting. - Say NO with confidence – resist pressure without fear, shame or the need to please others. - Choose friends wisely – understand how friendships and social circles can influence behaviour, character and destiny. - Handle the desire to fit in – develop the courage to remain authentic even when everyone else is doing something different. - Resist drugs and other harmful influences – understand how substance use and risky behaviours can affect their education, relationships and future. - Navigate social media influence – become more intentional about online content, trends, comparison and the pressure to conform. - Manage academic pressure – stay focused on education despite distractions, friendships and other competing influences. - Develop emotional resilience – cope with rejection, disappointment, criticism, conflict and difficult seasons without making destructive choices. - Set healthy boundaries – learn when and how to walk away from situations, relationships and environments that threaten their wellbeing. - Take responsibility for their choices – understand that they have the power to influence the direction of their lives. - Discover purpose and direction – connect today's decisions with the person they want to become tomorrow. - Become a positive influence – move from being controlled by peer pressure to becoming a young person who positively influences others. At its heart, Pressure Proof delivers a powerful message: you do not have to compromise your values to belong. You can stand strong, make wise choices and protect your future. This is why Pressure Proof belongs in homes, schools, churches, mentorship programmes, counselling centres and youth institutions—because equipping a young person before they face pressure can help them make better choices when pressure comes. PRESSURE PROOF: You are stronger than the pressure. You are built for greatness.

True leadership isn't a matter of having a certain job or title. In fact, being chosen for a position is only the first of the five levels every effective leader achieves. FIFTH MOUNTAIN

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs1,890.00 KShs1,690.00
A stunning novel in the tradition of the highly acclaimed "The Alchemist, " this is Coelho's daring retelling of the prophet Elijah. During the chaos of the ninth century B.C., Jezebel, wife to Israel's ruler, orders the execution of all prophets who refuse to worship the pagan god Baal. The young prophet Elijah, commanded by an angel of God to flee Israel, seeks safety in the land of Zarephath, where he unexpectedly finds true love with a young widow. But this new-found rapture is to be cut short, and Elijah sees all of his hopes and dreams irrevocably erased. What follows is sure to be viewed as Coelho's literary milestone: the quietly moving account of a man touched by the hand of God who must triumph over his frustrations in a soul-shattering trial of faith.Inspired by a circumstance that forever altered Coelho's own life, "The Fifth Mountain" is a testament to the truth that tragedy in life should not be considered a punishment but a challenge of the spirit. Gorgeous in its narrative and unforgettable in its prose, "The Fifth Mountain" teaches without being sanctimonious. This is a timeless story for the ages, a tale of the past that resonates powerfully for today's readers. ISBN:722537514 Author:COELHO PAULO

Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs1,500.00 KShs1,390.00
Twenty-four-year-old Veronika seems to have everything she could wish for: youth and beauty, pleny of attractive boyfriends, a fulfilling job, and a loving family. Yet something is lacking in her life. Inside her is a void so deep that nothing could possibly ever fill it. So, on the morning of November 11, 1997, Veronika decides to die. She takes a handful of sleeping pills expecting never to wake up. Naturally Veronika is stunned when she does wake up at Villete, a local mental hospital, where the staff informs her that she has, in fact, partially succeeded in achieving her goal. While the overdose didn't kill Veronika immediately, the medication has damaged her heart so severely that she has only days to live. The story follows Veronika through the intense week of self-discovery that ensues. To her surprise, Veronika finds herself drawn to the confinement of Villete and its patients, who, each in his or her individual way, reflect the heart of human experience. In the heightened state of life's final moments, Veronika discovers things she has never really allowed herself to feel before: hatred, fear, curiosity, love, and sexual awakening. She finds that every second of her existence is a choice between living and dying, and at the eleventh hour emerges more open to life than ever before. In Veronika Decides to Die, Paulo Coelho takes the reader on a distinctly modern quest to find meaning in a culture overshadowed by angst, soulless routine, and pervasive conformity. Based on events in Coelho's own life, Veronika Decides to Die questions the meaning of madness and celebrates individuals who do not fit into patterns society considers to be normal. Poignant and illuminating, it is a dazzling portrait of a young woman at the crossroads of despair and liberation, and a poetic, exuberant appreciation of each day as a renewed opportunity. In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. Along the way he explains the secrets of software billionaires, what it takes to be a great soccer player, why Asians are good at math, and what made the Beatles the greatest rock band.

What the Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs1,890.00 KShs1,590.00
What is the difference between choking and panicking? Why are there dozens of varieties of mustard but only one variety of ketchup? What do football players teach us about how to hire teachers? What does hair dye tell us about the history of the 20th century? In the past decade, Malcolm Gladwell has written three books that have radically changed how we understand our world and ourselves: The Tipping Point, Blink, and Outliers. Now, in What the Dog Saw, he brings together, for the first time, the best of his writing from The New Yorker over the same period. Here you'll find the bittersweet tale of the inventor of the birth control pill, and the dazzling creations of pasta sauce pioneer Howard Moscowitz. Gladwell sits with Ron Popeil, the king of the American kitchen, as he sells rotisserie ovens, and divines the secrets of Cesar Millan, the "dog whisperer" who can calm savage animals with the touch of his hand. He explores intelligence tests and ethnic profiling and why it was that employers in Silicon Valley once tripped over themselves to hire the same college graduate.

PUBLIC SPEAKING FOR SUCCESS

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs2,990.00 KShs2,790.00
Public speaking, as Carnegie saw it, is a vital skill that can be attained through basic and repeated steps. His classic volume on the subject appeared in 1926 and was revised twice-in shortened versions-in 1956 and 1962. This 2006 revision-edited by a longtime consultant to Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc., and the editor in charge of updating How to Win Friends and Influence People-is the definitive one for our era. While up-to-date in its language and points of reference, Public Speaking for Success preserves the full range of ideas and methods that appeared in the original: including Carnegie's complete speech and diction exercises, which follow each chapter, as the author originally designated them. This edition restores Carnegie's original appendix of the three complete self-help classics: Acres of Diamonds by Russell H. Conwell, As a Man Thinketh by James Allen, and A Message to Garcia by Elbert Hubbard. Carnegie included these essays in his original edition because, although they do not directly relate to public speaking, he felt they would be of great value to the readers. Here is the definitive update of the best-loved public-speaking book of all time. ISBN:2147483647 Author:CARNEGIE DALE

Though it was written for the battlefield, The Art of War contains valuable advice for other endeavors as well.
