Oh, the pure humor in this book! And the packed, well paced action. Jennie writes from a place of enjoyment and I’ve immensely enjoyed reading her pervious works. Then, The Goat Cartel landed, and once again she’s managed to pull a masterful story, where descriptions are relayed in fresh eyes (a scene where the narrator is describing a Maasai lady is just so beautiful, I had to pause and admire it), where things are not what they at first seem, where seemingly minute detail later on become the key to the plot puzzle. And the dynamic between Sali and Tiptip is just so natural and human. Reading this, and other Jennie’s writing, confirms this statement I heard somewhere; a good young readers’ book should be enjoyed by both the young readers and adult readers.
