The Alluare of the Forbidden by Reagan is a compelling reflection of modern day relationships and the realities many people quietly navigate. The book dives deep into themes of love, family, patience, and betrayal thus painting a raw and honest picture of today’s society.
What stands out most is how the author explores the motivations behind relationships and marriages. From unions formed out of rebound, social status, or even the fear of being alone, the story highlights the often unspoken selfish interests that can shape human connections. It’s both eye opening and deeply relatable.
A powerful takeaway from the book is the reminder that every action has consequences.
The characters’ choice whether driven by love, insecurity, or ambition ultimately show how deeply our decisions can affect not only ourselves but those around us.
While the book is engaging and thought provoking, one noticeable drawback is the use of unusually large fonts in certain sections, which can feel distracting and a bit confusing for the reader.(am curious about this one from a writer perspective)
The ending is particularly suspenseful and dramatic, leaving the reader yearning for more. It feels intentionally open ended and almost as if the story is unfinished which makes one thing clear, the author owes us a part two 🤣🤣
Overall, The Alluare of the Forbidden is a great read insightful, relatable, and reflective of real life experiences. It’s a story many people will see themselves in, making it both impactful and memorable.

What you see is what you get
Don’t judge a book by its cover. But this is one book you can judge by the cover because there is a bit of steamy scenes in it.
Like many Kenyan men, Justin, a wealthy man from a humble background holds that helping his father educate his siblings is part of his responsibilities. His wife Kate is from a wealthy family and she doesn’t understand why Justin should spend money on his siblings. She sees her role as one of protecting her husband from freeloaders. Tension builds in their marriage as each spouse hold onto their positions. Their sex life suffers. A family friend catches a whiff of the tension and Justin is toast.
Human nature doesn’t change. Justin’s daughter falls in love with a man from a humble background. I wonder whether the author saw that. The young romance sounds very much like a repeat of Justice and Kate’s life. There is no hint that Justin saw his daughter’s marriage as a mirror of his own marriage as far as wealthy and want go.
Apart from young gals with big busts, this book is about the human condition – the man who has given his life to the church but his being mistreated by his boss who is his brother in the faith. The faithful wife dying of cancer and her family and friends are consoling her that she is gonna be OK. Yet she knows they are selling false hope to her.
Although written by a Kenyan and written about Kenya, it was published in the United Kingdom. This speaks to the quality of the author’s writing because it isn’t easy to get published abroad.

“The Allure of the Forbidden” is now ranking among my top most captivating and masterfully written love story of all times.
I had never interacted with such a well thought out plot that naturally depicts the realities of the modern marriage life with this kind of depth.
While reading this excellent story, I totally related with all the characters; I understood Justin’s dilemma and deep passion; empathized with
his wife the old-fashioned Katelyn and then there was Gisela, who was an excellent depiction of the modern day reality of challenges that most relationships are facing, times without number.
The “The Allure of the Forbidden,” is one super captivating book that I have read in record speed without wanting to place the book down.
Reagan the author is indeed a talented and skillful writer. I am looking forward to reading the next phase of ‘Justin’s’ journey of this life and hope that this book will make it to the movie threater.
‘The Allure of the Forbidden’ is simply a Master Piece that everyone should consider reading. I am reading it again…

Great book!

Reagan’s debut novel is a page turner!! 100% entertainment value. I read it all in just 2 days.
The story itself is beguiling. Justin is a man’s man, unapologetically eating life with a big spoon. While battling difficulties at home, he falls into the hands of the beautiful, young Gisela, which coupled with a few other events, threatens to spin his life out of control. It’s touch and go for a while as the writer compels us with raw honesty to consider the themes of family, religion, lust and faithfulness.
The story is told in an openly honest and vulnerable voice which draws the reader in and you can’t help but love Justin. If nothing else, he is real! He is a man subject to his desires but also struggling to maintain his true values. With the story’s surprise ending, you will be the judge of how well he fails or triumphs.
I highly recommend for a quick weekend or airport read. Beware though, the book will not leave you unmoved. Enjoy!

Reagan’s “The Allure of the Forbidden” masterfully explores the complexities of love, desire, and fidelity. This book is not just a story; it’s a testament to Reagan’s exceptional talent and passion for storytelling. Despite the financial challenges that deterred him from pursuing writing professionally earlier in life, Reagan has crafted a poignant and universally relatable narrative.
The protagonist, Justin, is a character who will resonate deeply with readers. From his humble beginnings in a peasant village to his current status as a successful businessman, Justin’s journey is one of personal and professional triumphs. However, it is his internal struggles and emotional turmoil that truly captivate the reader. Reagan’s ability to portray Justin’s unfulfilled marriage with such raw honesty and depth is nothing short of brilliant. The contrast between Justin’s youthful appearance and longing for passion and his wife Katelyn’s old-fashioned ways is beautifully and painfully drawn.
Reagan’s character development is superb, particularly in his depiction of Katelyn and Gisela. Katelyn’s realization of the power of inner beauty, and its necessity to be complemented by outer beauty, is both heart-wrenching and enlightening. Reagan has a gift for unveiling the profound truths of human nature and relationships. Katelyn’s journey is a powerful reminder of the often overlooked facets of beauty and love.
Gisela, entrapped by her illogical but true feelings, adds another layer of complexity to the story. Her character challenges the readers to reflect on the nature of lust and genuine affection. Reagan’s portrayal of her entanglement with Justin is intense and evocative, highlighting the loneliness that often accompanies such forbidden desires.
Reagan’s narrative style is engaging and fluid, making it difficult to put the book down. His descriptive prowess and emotional depth are evident in every chapter. The story’s pacing is perfect, building up tension and resolving it in a manner that is both satisfying and thought-provoking.
In “The Allure of the Forbidden,” Reagan not only tells a compelling story but also delves into the intricate dance of fidelity, passion, and the true essence of love. This book is a remarkable achievement for an author who has overcome significant obstacles to share his gift with the world. Reagan’s transition from a village boy to a renowned businessman mirrors the transformative journey of his characters, making his success story as inspiring as his novel.
In conclusion, “The Allure of the Forbidden” is a literary gem that should not be missed. Reagan’s extraordinary ability to weave complex emotional landscapes into a coherent and touching narrative is commendable. This book is a must-read for anyone who appreciates deeply human stories that challenge and enrich the heart and mind. Reagan has truly created a masterpiece that will linger in the reader’s thoughts long after the final page is turned.
