Meditation is fascinating, but often it feels elusive. How can simple exercises change your mental state? How can focusing your breathing lead to changes in your personality? For the first time, Harvard collaborators Daniel Goleman and Richard Davidson share the science behind the practice. Drawing on cutting edge research and sweeping away common misconceptions, they show how to improve your technique, how smart practice can cultivate selflessness, equanimity, love and compassion, and even redesign our neural circuitry. Whether you're a beginner or have meditated for years, bring mindfulness and meditation into your life with an essential read for the world we live in now.

Bildad Kaggia and the Struggle for Socialism in Kenya, 1921 – 2005. Edited by Shiraz Durrani And Brian Mathenge

Books, African Interest
KShs2,000.00
"Since the days of my primary school, I have always been a fighter," said Bildad Kaggia. Like Makhan Singh and Pio Gama Pinto, Bildad Kaggia struggled against imperialism in all its phases: capitalism, colonialism and neo-colonialism, first gainst British colonialism, then against the comprador government of lom enyatta imposed by imperialism on the working people of Keny While many gave up the struggle at independence and joined Kenyatta in looting the land and condemning workers and peasants to landlessness and poverty, Bildad Kaggia preferred to continue the struggle and live the life of a peasant. That example remains to this day for the post-independence generations. Kaggia was active in Mau Mau, in the trade union movement, in writing and publishing. He added a cultural and religious aspect to his struggle. He ended up in colonial detention but refused to give up the struggle for the aims of Mau Mau. He was a member of its Central Committee. Imperialism has used the comprador governments to distort and hide Kaggia's contribution to the struggle for the liberation of Kenya. They prevented the full publication of his autobiography which appeared as Roots of Freedom, but stopped the story in 1963, removing his struggle against the comprador government. This gap was finally filled in 2012 with the publication of The Struggle for Freedom and Justice. March 7, 2026 marked the 21st anniversary of Bildad Kaggia's death. We publish a collection of essays to mark his life and record his contribution to the liberation of Kenya. His clear ideological stand and actions to achieve his vision of a Kenya with freedom and justice for working people is what scared imperialism and the comprador governments. Generations born after independence need his history to support their own struggles against capitalism and imperialism.

Im Not Crazy Im Just Not You by by Roger R Pearman and Sarah C Albritton

Books, Self Help & Motivation
KShs2,200.00 KShs1,990.00
Brief Summary I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just Not You: The Real Meaning of the Sixteen Personality Types. Tracing the growth of the study of personality type from its roots in the work of Carl Jung to today's subtly nuanced type theory, I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just Not You shows how greatly our individual personality preferences affect our interactions with others. By shedding light on individual characteristics and tendencies, psychologists Roger R. Pearman and Sarah C. Albritton teach us how to overcome our natural inclination to judge difference in order to recognize and celebrate it. This new edition includes current research into psychological type, information about the benefits of using type to enhance health and manage stress, discussion of the link between type and emotional intelligence and analysis of how personality preferences translate across generational and cultural divides. KShs2,190.00 KShs1,990.00
Before Owen Michaels disappears, he manages to smuggle a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers: Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered; as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss; as a US Marshal and FBI agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared. Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth, together. Virgin Way

Books, AutoBiography
Rated 4.00 out of 5
KShs1,695.00 KShs1,611.00
Now Branson gives an inside look at his strikingly different swashbuckling style of leadership. Learn how fun, family, passion, and the dying art of listening are key components to what his extended family of employees around the world have always dubbed (with a wink) the "Virgin Way.” This unique perspective comes from a man who dropped out of school at sixteen, suffers from dyslexia, and has never worked for anyone but himself. He may be famous for thinking outside the box—an expression he despises—but Branson asserts that "you’ll never have to think outside the box if you refuse to let anyone build one around you.” This is a unique book on leadership from someone who readily admits he has never read a book on leadership in his life. So expect the unexpected."" ISBN:1591847564 Author:Richard Branson

Turning Pro: Tap Your Inner Power and Create Your Life’s Work by Steven Pressfield

Books, Business, Entrepreneurs
KShs2,000.00 KShs1,899.00
Brief Summary The follow-up to his bestseller The War of Art, Turning Pro navigates the passage from the amateur life to a professional practice. "You don't need to take a course or buy a product. All you have to do is change your mind." --Steven Pressfield TURNING PRO IS FREE, BUT IT'S NOT EASY. When we turn pro, we give up a life that we may have become extremely comfortable with. We give up a self that we have come to identify with and to call our own. TURNING PRO IS FREE, BUT IT DEMANDS SACRIFICE. The passage from amateur to professional is often achieved via an interior odyssey whose trials are survived only at great cost, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. We pass through a membrane when we turn pro. It's messy and it's scary. We tread in blood when we turn pro. WHAT WE GET WHEN WE TURN PRO. What we get when we turn pro is we find our power. We find our will and our voice and we find our self-respect. We become who we always were but had, until then, been afraid to embrace and live out.
