THE ROOM: Where It All Happens is not just a book. It’s a mindset shift. A challenge. A blueprint for becoming the kind of person the room cannot ignore. It follows a journey that begins in the quiet and cold discipline of Kinangop, unfolds in the vibrant opportunities of Nairobi, and expands into a world of cross-cultural experiences and global engagement. With honest reflections from childhood, school, university leadership, early employment, business struggles, and the building of Nyota Njema Real Estate, Perminus shares lessons that speak to graduates, professionals, entrepreneurs, leaders, and dreamers. His story reminds us that no season is wasted. The hidden years, the uncomfortable rooms, the waiting periods, the failures, and the responsibilities we carry, all become part of our preparation. Through this journey, powerful lessons emerge shaped by mentorship, resilience, faith, and growth. The book challenges the reader to look beyond titles and certificates. It reveals that entering the room is only the beginning. What truly keeps a person in the room is character, competence, humility, discipline, resilience, and the ability to create value. Whether you’re starting your first job, stepping into leadership, or ready to level up and expand your impact, this is your call to become a builder; someone whose value speaks louder than their credentials. Because in the end, it’s not just about getting into the room. It’s about becoming the kind of person that will open doors for others
