This is the life narrative of Hon Burudi Nabwera, Kenya's first ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. It tells the story of his family lineage, early life, education, diverse careers (political, corporate and diplomatic) that spanned over half a century. He also describes his family life and how this influenced his career choices.
All these are weaved into the historical events of Kenya, from the time of the missionaries, colonialism and his role in agitating for independence in both the national and international arenas. As such, he worked closely with many influential leaders in Kenya including the first 3 presidents: Hon Jomo Kenyatta, Hon Daniel arap Moi and Hon Mwai Kibaki.
His mentors included Hon Oginga Odinga and Masinde Muliro amongst others and shares profound reflections on all these relationships and how they enabled him to achieve all that he did. This is a story that will inspire one to accept failure and setbacks as a stepping stone to ultimately finding one's purpose.
