Letters to a Failed State : The of Kenya’s Young & Brave By Mushila Victor Isaacs & Silas Mwale Isenjia Daring, defiant, unforgettable—this is the voice of a generation that marched through smoke in search of a dawn that belongs to them. “We were born in broken systems and baptized by betrayal. But we still rose—with our voices, our phones, and our feet.” Letters to a Failed State is a searing, poetic, and unflinching account of Kenya’s youth uprising against the 2024/2025 Finance Bill—and the deeper rot it exposed. Told through haunting letters, raw testimonies, and encrypted digital reflections, this book captures the fire and fury of a generation that refused to be silenced. From teargas-filled streets to encrypted Telegram threads, from placards to hashtags, these pages bring together the voices of Kenya’s brave young rebels—students, hustlers, dreamers, and digital warriors—who dared to speak truth to power. With Swahili metaphors, vivid imagery, QR-linked protest footage, and the powerful People’s Manifesto, this book is more than a narrative. It is a civic archive. A literary call to action. A mirror to the nation—and a challenge to the world
