The poems span a 20 year period. Structured in three sections - the caterpillar, cocoon, butterfly metamorphosis stages - they capture the writers personal 'heroes’ journey'. Her experience of breaking and remaking, the different stages and states of her soul’s growth.
The poems chronicle sojourns in the valley of the shadow of death, they capture time in the dark night of the soul. They however also bow to love, offering a perspective of the universe as a stage for love-making (all the worlds a stage – as Shakespeare put it), life as an exercise of connecting, gestating and reproducing.
