Kenya. A beautiful country, but blessed with an endless supply of fools. This is a country where a man marries the most fertile woman in Africa and gets buried under a mountain of children; where a jackpot winner unwittingly plays God, a hustler fundraises for the burial of his amputated arm, and a special kind of coward offers up his family to save his own skin. Here, your neighbour openly prophesies your downfall, trees are mutineers, the dead are buried naked, and even the swindler gets swindled. A beautiful country all the same. But drunk and wobbling, where everyone must either hang on or fall off. A Season of Fools is a collection of satirical stories told by the fools themselves to other fools. Turn the pages, then, and meet your twin.
