This book presents a dual-source theory of human knowledge, addressing the fundamental question of how human beings acquire understanding. Rather than proposing that humans are born with innate ideas, this work argues that individuals possess inherent cognitive capacities specifically designed to discover, process, and comprehend knowledge that exists independently in reality. The theory identifies two distinct epistemological pathways through which humans access truth: divine revelation, which encompasses transcendent truths communicated through prophetic tradition, sacred texts, and spiritual illumination that exceed unaided human reason; and the natural world, whose observable structures, patterns, and phenomena manifest divine wisdom accessible through empirical observation and rational inquiry. Both pathways, though methodologically distinct, originate from a unified source and reveal pre-existent truths to human consciousness.
The work acknowledges significant variations in cognitive capacity across human populations, recognising that individuals demonstrate different degrees of intellectual aptitude, analytical depth, and capacity for abstraction. Those with exceptional cognitive abilities function as epistemological pioneers, penetrating complex domains to extract insights that remain obscured to ordinary perception. However, the transmission of discovered knowledge through pedagogical institutions, intergenerational communication, and information networks proves essential to collective human advancement. Structured across twenty chapters using accessible prose and concrete illustrations, this volume makes rigorous epistemological inquiry available to diverse audiences, including students, educators, parents, spiritual practitioners, and scholars. Readers will develop enhanced meta-cognitive awareness, understanding not merely the content of their knowledge but the processes through which knowledge enters consciousness, the dual sources from which it derives, and the methodologies by which it may be effectively communicated, thereby enabling more conscious participation in humanity’s ongoing pursuit of wisdom.
