Marketing is arguably the least understood function in business.
When resources are stretched, it is oen the rst department to face
budget cuts—a reality that is even more pronounced in small
businesses.
In fact, the smaller the organisation, the greater the suspicion
toward marketing and those who practice it. is misunderstanding
has only deepened with the rise of digital media. Today, anyone with
a social media account and basic design skills is oen assumed to be
capable of driving an organisation’s marketing eort.
Yet no business can survive-let alone thrive-without attracting and
converting customers. at is the essence of marketing. For this
reason, marketing should not be treated as a mere function of
business; it should be the foundation upon which every commercial
enterprise is built.
is book sets out to make that case-and, more importantly, to
transform you, the small business owner, into a condent and
capable marketing maverick

Book Review
Title: Best Effect pg 105, author Zachary Kimari
This book is an enabler of discussion around strategy and why others succeed while others flop despite budgets, great teams and timing.
It explains different approaches to strategy and factors to consider for success.
The author has used powerful storytelling that guides the reader in understanding strategy.
The book suggests leadership, bravery, discovery insights, focus, target markets, customer needs, picking ideas, innovation, Adaptation, pivoting as well as customer feedbacks as possible data points in evaluating strategy and its execution.
I recommend this book as a guide to winning in the marketplace for any entrepreneurs selling products or services.
I enjoyed this one.

The author has done it again. A very well written book. Easy read and rich with information. It was fascinating reading about the many different entities I know today but wasn’t aware of the back stories. And as usual some intelligent humor 😀. I like hi style of writing.
Looking forward to the next book.

Best Effect is more than just a marketing book, it’s a practical blueprint for how to think, position, and win in any competitive environment. It strips marketing down to its essentials: clarity, positioning, and perception, and shows why success comes from owning a single idea rather than spreading yourself thin.
What makes this book a must-read is how directly applicable its lessons are. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a business owner, or even building a personal brand, the principles inside are immediately usable. The emphasis on being first in the market isn’t just theory, it explains how early positioning shapes customer perception in a way that’s extremely difficult for competitors to undo.
Even more powerful is the book’s insight into strategic positioning. The idea of aligning yourself against a dominant player even if only through perception, reveals how attention and credibility can be engineered, not just earned. These are not obvious strategies, yet they are incredibly effective when executed well.
Everyone should read Best Effect because it fundamentally changes how you see competition. It shifts your mindset from chasing features and price wars to controlling narratives and occupying mental space. In crowded markets where most people are guessing, this book gives you a clear, disciplined way to stand out and stay relevant.
If you care about growth, visibility, or influence in any form, Best Effect isn’t optional, it’s essential.
